I have a few financial tips to share, but first, let’s start with an anecdote… If you were in your car driving and noticed that your fuel gauge was getting close to E, would you do something about it? Many people are approaching their financial future in that manner. Their car is getting ready to stop and they are not doing anything about it. It’s the fear that paralyzes many. Now on to the tips… Let this year be the year that you:
Assess where you are financially. Take inventory of your entire financial picture. Where are you? Is that were you want to be or do you want more?
Set SMART goals. You have to give yourself something to work towards. It’s kind of difficult to hit a target that you don’t know exists…
Create a plan to achieve your goals. With finance, your Spending Plan is what gives your money direction. Create one. Use it. Modify it as needed.
Evaluate your progress. How are you measuring up when looking at the goals you set? Make modifications as you see fit.
Celebrate your wins. We don’t do this often enough. That doesn’t mean blow your Spending Plan. It just means patting yourself on the back for the work you are putting in.
